Most videos are delivered as Flash Video .FLV files (MX video file that can be imported into Flash) which you can import into your Macromedia Flash MX .fla files. Many video files will include several quality variations (low, medium and high resolution). You can recognize it with additions to the file names such as -40, -60, -80 , these are the quality settings (compression percentage) when the videos were generated.

In most cases .flv files will suffice. But all videos can be delivered on request in other formats. For example In case of CD-rom implementation you might prefer a higher canvas width/height and the highest resolution (on most video-specifics pages it will mention if the video is available in higher canvas-sizes then the delivered file specifications). Or if you need to make your flash movie flash 4 and 5 compatible a flash 3-6 file might be necessary.

These are other formats which are available

Flash 3-6 (default)
Video that will play in any Flash player version 3 through 6. According to a June, 2002 NPD Research Study, 98.3% of internet users have Flash 3-6 installed. So by using this type of output you have the highest likelihood that a viewer will be able to see your video without having to download a player. The default Flash 3-6 video uses advanced memory management to control Flash player RAM consumption, and it cannot be imported into Flash. You can bring it into Flash with Load Movie.
Flash 3-6 (importable)
To import the Flash 3-6 output into Flash. The importable Flash 3-6 output will use up far more RAM when played, and is considerably larger in file size.

MX
Compressed Video. High quality MX video that plays in the Flash 6 player. MX video uses high quality video compression that is comparable to Quicktime, Windows Media Player, and Real. You can bring the MX video into Flash with Load Movie.
Compressed video frames are defined as "interframes" or "intraframes". Interframe means many frames are described based on their difference from the preceding frame. Intraframe means each frame is compressed separately and independent of surrounding frames (for example, JPEG is an intraframe codec).

Quicktime
In most cases the .flv will have been created from a Quicktime movie. If you need a .mov file for usage in other programs like for example Macromedia Director movies, then a quicktime movie is available on request (if indicated as available on video specifics page)
